ADD Adult - Unemployed & Single

When you're an unemployed adult with attention deficit disorder, any efforts to reinvent yourself are never that simple.

An Adult suffering with ADD and ADHD without a secure job or family is difficult.  The trials of the day becomes overwhelming easily even if they are small. The lack of focus and drive to improve life is missing.   Worries overtake productive thought and a catch-22 forms.

Many ADD adults are looking for answers inside themselves or thier family history.  There are many causes to ADD and it is not restricted to birth, genetics or childhood.  Some tramatic events, high fevers and other events may cause you to have symptoms of ADD.

CHADD For ADD Adults Too

CHADD meetings are not just for children

In today's age everyone needs support of others to help get through tough days.  When you are an adult with ADD those tough days seem to happen a lot more often then not.  Children have a lot more options during their normal day to get theraputic help from friends, teachers, parents and relatives.  As an ADD Adult you are normally not very interactive so opening up and getting help is harder.

CHADD has meetings to support Adults suffering from ADD / ADHD.   You can find a local chapter on their website or search "Chadd add adult" using the search box on this page.

New Adult ADD Drug Being Promoted

Shire and GalxoSmithKline have teamed up to promote Shire’s ADHD treatment Vyvanse to adults. The combined 1,200-person sales force will cover pediatricians and neuro-health physicians in an effort to reach as large a swathe of specialties as possible.

This is a huge sales force to focus on a market that is virtually untapped.  The drug has already been approved for years and it doesn't have the bad press that Adderall and Ritalin have.

Vyvanse was initially approved for 6 to 12 year olds but in July of last year it was approved for over 17 and Adults with ADD.

Adderall, which has been facing increased competition from generic brands, was not actively marketed or advertised last year.   This was in preperation for this new drug.

It differs from Adderall because it's not time released so it should work better for a busy ADD adult.
