Man turns life around after ADHD diagnosis at age 55
As a teenager and an adult, he identified as an outsider. Angry outbursts were common and he was eventually diagnosed with depression.
But Scrivin always suspected there was something more going on.
It wasn't until he was 55 that he was diagnosed with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder or ADHD, a disorder most commonly associated with children, but also highly prevalent in adults.
Mr. Scrivin is one of 700,000 Canadian adults who suffer from ADD or 2% of the entire population.
Do 2% of the USA's entire population consist of adults with ADD? That's 7 million adults in the USA.
Scrivin who is a bus driver, an usual job for someone who has ADHD considering it's known how bad drivers they are. They have more accidents and they speed more. After getting ADD Treatment, they settle down and their driving abilities improve.
Roughly 5% of the total population in Canada has ADHD, 1/2 of those being Adults.
Those adults untreated are more likely to get a divorce or loose their job.
